On our 4iP voyage of discovery, here’s me re-thinking my media; here’s ‘backchat’ as a linkage tool to local TV content…

I should have mentioned it last week but in the midst of all the managerial upheaval at Carrow Road, slipped me by…

But, anyway, they’ve done it again today. So I can now add another strand to our ‘backchat’ thinking… as in what does ‘backchat’ do for you? Just what were 4iP up to when they slipped this clown from Norfolk a little cheque?

Well, it enables me to offer people the opportunity to ‘link’; for them to participate in my media.

But it’s not just Joe Soap. Other media organisations can likewise now participate in my media…

Like ITVLocal/anglia.

Who have now twice arrived at www.myfootballwriter.com/norwichcity all ‘badged up’ and with their TV ‘wares’ on offer…

The ‘badge’ – aka the avatar – is the old Anglia TV logo the silver, shiny knight; that catches my attention… that’s clever; cute marketing in this neck of the woods…

A ‘#ncfc’ tag; a few words by way of a trailer… ‘#ncfc Ian Crook admits Canaries had him at hello – extended interview with the City legend…

And then it’s a cut and paste job; albeit all with the help of those clever bods at tinyurl…

There we go…. how f*cking joined up thinking is that for Norfolk, eh?

Because that’s smart from ITVLocal. Very smart.

Distributing your local TV content onto the eyeballs of 40,000 MFW/NorwichCity ‘uniques’ at nigh on nil marketing cost… the time it takes to ’squeeze’ the url into a tinyurl; that, and then pinging it out off the producer’s mobile phone… and all to what you know is a perfectly-targetted audience.

Cos, now my punters can not only access my ‘version’ of Ian Crook’s official arrival speech here…

Before turning to ‘backchat’ to catch a link through to what the new Canary coach had to say to the local TV boys…

What do I do best? I write.

And what I don’t do best, then I link to the rest… and ‘backchat’ plus Twitter plus #ncfc plus a tinyurl allows me to link to the best TV interview off my site…

And as Mr Lotto and Mr French Gite continue to sit there on Addiply and earn me pennies off their 25p per 1,000 CPM gig, so ‘backchat’ plus Twitter plus #ncfc plus a tinyurl earns me money…

Now, all I need to do now is go and find Auntie and see if she’s got an avatar too…

After all, that’s what the BBC is all about now, isn’t it? Giving out both its tools and its content for free to little media independents like me?

So, to borrow from our illustrious leader, ‘Come on BBC, let’s be ‘avin ya…!
